HOLISTIC HEALING
Bringing heartful hands into the clinical setting

MOVES
The move itself is so easy, and I have been able to teach this to my son and often get him to do the moves on me. I find it a great release when feeling pissed off or emotional. I have, as a student teacher, massage therapist and mother taught this move to fellow practitioners, clients and my own children. The move is so easy that often when it is introduced to people, they don’t get how much change this simple move can bring to the body, until they have felt it.
Stuck Liver Qi Release( STLQR) is one of Heather’s Foundation moves and I think one of the most profound moves I have learnt. It is a simple move that uses a Rolfing technique to move Qi, blood and lymph circulation. Stuck Liver Qi is easily recognisable: when the Liver Qi is not freely flowing movement slows down, and sensations like not being able to breathe properly, swellings and fullness, and sighing become more common. When the Liver meridian pathways are blocked, they manifest in the abdominal, breast, rib and chest regions and menstrual problems unfold. Emotionally it may manifest as, procrastination, inability to make decisions, being pissed off, frustrated, angry or even depressed. Everything feels better with movement and worse with rest or stress. I don’t believe a diagnosis of Stuck Liver Qi needs to be made thru reading pulses or looking at the tongue, a person’s story and body language often tells me more.
I use the STLQR with all I touch. I expect it to move any stagnation and free up the circulation, lymph and blood in the Liver meridian, thus I also expect it will move emotions. Often it is my starting point in clinical practice it is generally quite tender, and frees up during the treatment, there is always a noticeable (feels softer and less painful) difference in the first time I apply the move to the last time in the treatment. Recipients express that they have more movement in shoulders/neck and feel they have more movement in upper body. Doing this at the beginning of the sessionallows deeper breaths: if they are sitting up at this point, I generally have their body leaning on mine – giving a connection to the client and thru a sense of being held and supported they can start the process of letting go what has been holding them hostage.
Recently I had a client who I was working with sit up at the end of her treatment she had her eyes closed as i did one last STLQR. I let her know the treatment was finished and she opened her eyes, her first comment was how clear her vision was. The Liver Meridian opens to the eyes. Maja – FNQ, Australia
I made a life changing decision to begin a mentoring programme with Heather. She works completely different from anyone else I have encountered in the past 12 years of study and working in TCM. It took me 8 years of following her work and theories on the internet before I finally took the plunge and rang her.
I threw myself into it wholeheartedly and immediately began practicing what she taught me instead of what I learned at College. I AM SO GLAD I DID. My results in clinic have gone from good to GREAT overnight.
Heather brings together teaching and healing from all levels, not just the intellectual mumbo jumbo – here are the points and this is their function—that I have heard from every teacher since I began TCM. She is real and relevant to now.
If I’m really being honest with myself what I see in the clinic doesn’t bear much resemblance to what I was originally taught in class. Sure we can effect changes and a few clients (the fit and healthy ones) do get good results. But today, I mostly see clients who are very stagnant with damp/heat, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, sedentary lifestyles, poor diet, no exercise and toxin build up from food, environment and vaccines. Add to this daily stress and any unresolved past traumas that lock them into patterns of disease and depression and that is a powerful network of “STUCK.” Putting a few needles in (even an 8 Extra treatment) and taking a few pills is not going to shift that.
Talking to patients about making lifestyle changes, dietetics and adding in exercise and meditation is a waste of our time. We know lots but it doesn’t help them when they leave our clinic and go back to their everyday stressful lives where making those changes becomes too difficult for them. There must be a better way.
Working with Heather has taught me how to powerfully move these blockages, clearing away toxins and life debris so that when I put a few needles in I get MAXIMUM IMPACT. I am finally seeing miracles in my clinic – and that’s how it should be. That’s why I studied TCM. Mentoring with a Modern Master is bringing me into my “A Game”, thank you Heather. ELKE

Mastering Difficult Cases: The Role of Navel Cupping in TCM
Thank you for the education and inspiration. This altered my perception of education, as the cleverness came through in class—not the traditions. Foundational to Qi medicine is movement. I feel like this one technique changed my career for the better; my patients started improving so much more. Thank you.
EFFECTIVE HEALING AFTER C Section (2017)
“I think I found the missing link of TCM that weekend. Initially I was attracted to study TCM because of its straight forward approach when working with the human vessel. Is there Cold? Warm is up. Is it too fast? Slow it down. But, what was missing in there that Heather showed to me? So there is Cold? Well, take it out first!!! And I realised, I knew how to take out Heat, but not how to take out Cold. And it made too much sense. How can we possibly make a river (channel) flow when there is a ton of ice blocking the access? Since then, what have I been doing in clinic? Taking Cold out of my patients first, then putting in the Heat to Warm the Cold. How could this simple thing be overlooked?
The results?
1 – My Brazilian patient who was wearing feather puffer jackets all last summer permanently moved into singlets after only one session with fire cupping the navel and ginger moxa to umbilicus.
2 – Patient with depression and in recovery post lymphatic cancer radio therapy and chemo is maintaining higher energy levels and happiness levels (with addition of cellular rejuvenation machine).
3 – In myself, after I tried the cupping then moxa to umbilicus and the Kiiko shock point ST24, I noticed higher energy levels and also a strange thing – my upper lip for a long time has been rather thin. After 2 sessions with cup/moxa/ ST24, my upper lip became more full and has stayed this way since.
4 – The second profound experience that workshop weekend was with the Rose of Raphael essences. Heather guided me to place the drop of Bao Mai to my finger, connect it to my Yintang 3rd eye, then bring it down my midline until I reached my uterus. I did this then sat quietly. Moments later, ‘boom’, as my heart felt as if it ignited with fire. Another moment, then ‘boom’, same in my uterus. Wow, Bao Mai connection re-established! The channel was treated from the spiritual level. This is Holistic healing. Since then, I have been using this essence for women (and men) in my clinic. It is really beautiful. Just this weekend I got my patient to do the same Bao Mai pathway opening with the essence topically. It immediately released her trapped tears.
5 – Another patient I have been using castor oil massage for C section healing. Why is she in my clinic? Low back pain. She has had 3x C-sections and epidurals. The first massage was quite tender sensation-wise for her and then slightly painful as the skin became inflamed in the first incision part of the scar. She has had ongoing issues with the scar reopening. So now after 3 sessions she reports less numbness and feeling better in general. Notably the scar is now healing and it is much easier to do deep work there without concern of skin irritation. She is amazing and telling me I should make this into a case study as the effect for her has been so fast and profound.
So, amazing results from such simple things. Thank you dear Heather for these missing links”. Ana, NZ
