Humanizing our work

How we got to here . . .
Our informal LIFE education leads us to where we can’t NOT be hearttful
(Most of us have had extreme- womanly adventures)
Example of what gives in one of these – See more here
Adelaide, 2016, Atarau, 2017/2020 and
I incorporated aspects of this in Witta 2017, Nobby’s Creek 2018, and FNQ (2022 – 25)
To attend one of these, the Healing Yourself – Gently online bundle must be completed.
All Heather’s Gentling Ways opens you into – a multi modality, multi lineage, transformative Qi and body alignment
**Wounded Healer Day 1: The template: A new model of being human
- What the body needs to be resilient
- How we can enhance this – reframing our stories
- Ways of being:
- Spirit
- Emotions
- Physical
- Undoing what is locked within
Far more profound than ‘just’ needling – through all scars and how to undo every energy layer affected is embroidered into this work.
This follows my March 2016 eLotus Moving Blockages presentation
**Wounded Healer Day 2: Broadening our skill sets
1 – Undoing what is in front of us/within them
- Weaving all of this into the tapestry of being human and healing
- Scars and their stories – how to undo
- Original scar – navel/birth/life trauma
- Metabolism – enhancing a complex system naturally
- Body sets up physical pooling
- Combo needling/massage moves for back and joints
- Lymphatic drainage
2 – Armouring – Reichian models
- Why we have energy stuck within our stories
3 – Emotional kaleidoscopes
4 – Other Culture’s Models
Other culture’s psycho/spiritual/’emotional’ causes of disease and consequences, including soul retrieval/entities/multiple personalities and their resolution using traditional means (Tibetan/Maya/TEAM)
5– Different ways to spiritually cleanse . . .
- including the Atakarana – (‘Reunion’)
- Lustre bowls, other cultural traditions and how we can use these in an integrated fashion in our own lives and clinics.
6 – Prostatic drainage
MEN MATTER – Who forgot about the other half of the world?
**Wounded Healer Day 3
What to do?
We will be covering cases – the really tricky ones.
A stand alone – especially if you want something ‘juicy’ as an ethics credit.
Transformative Healing Package:
Acupuncture pre cursor to this component
Ethics day – Reclaiming Elder’s Wisdoms (6 hours in total)
*1 – Pain: on all levels
– why and how is it ethical to mask suffering? (2 hours)
We will look at the roots of pain and what to do as a holistic practitioner in today’s world.
- This will include how our nutrient pathways have been tangled with the use of pesticides and adjuvants,
- How the immune system is being corrupted and
- How modern medical is not paying attention – and
- The ethics of all natural modalities following suit instead of standing true and going forwards as the answers are to be found in helping healing – not in forcing nature and micromanaging.
Euthanasia
– how natural and compassionate care may step in.
Cases
– will be presented of this the end of life process
*2 – Neurological Challenges (4 hours)
Neurological incompetence – all ages . . An insider’s look – through the eyes of a senior acupuncture teacher/mentor)
From fetal malformations through chromosomal and acquired brain injury, recreational drug damage, heavy metal poisoning and on into abnormal aging – and what we can do at all steps and whether we should or not.
(Including modern life as a parent).
The ethics of pretending it is all about ‘better diagnosis’
Is it ethical to be part of the industrialised retail medical model?
What we can do as natural health care practitioners become a more ethical natural advocate for sustainable humanity.
(This is also through the eyes of a mother of a (then) 30 year old massively handicapped adult daughter who has always slipped through the cracks in every level of bureaucracy and apparent ‘help’ offered – what is ahead for us as we age? Or when we become someone else’s statistics?
This also reflects where we are heading as a society in the mandated bullying of untested and frankly against nature interventions – at every stage of life.

2016
“Attending the wounded healer with Heather Bruce in Adelaide was so nurturing and needed, as a woman, and as a practitioner. Feeling, and seeing Heather work is beautiful. She’s so in the moment and present with the patient and approaches the body with curiosity and inquiry, letting the body tell the story and using a myriad of techniques to really create change, on all levels. We learned tools of self care for ourselves, and to teach to patients which are so simple yet so effective. I loved the caring, the togetherness, the sharing, the realness, the tears, the ah ha moments, the molding of life, experience, education and tools to treat people, to help people, to help people help themselves, and to help each other. This community I feel is so needed. Helping ourselves, helping each other, and helping our patients. If we can’t help ourselves, we don’t have much for our patients. Heather is heartfelt, and so is her teaching.
During the lectures I was brought to tears many times as she’s so real and honest, and not afraid to show her woman-ness. It’s beautiful, and empowering, and she has so much wise women’s wisdom to share. Thank you Heather, I look forward to learning more and more.” – Anna, TCM practitioner – Tassie.
Ideally this work is topped off by being in a special spot, where we can relate as people,
sharing undoing what no longer serves us.
Healing the Wounded Healer 2017 – Atarau, NZ
I experienced a feeling of ‘Now is the time, here is a window of opportunity’ The feeling would not go away. I am thankful, as I heeded it. I did the homework that had been set so was prepared. I thought, usual barriers in place a default from my past experiences in life and found myself at the retreat, a beautiful environment and atmosphere of calm and security. I opened up and disclosed my story, held onto for more years than I care to think about. I am thankful that Heather and her assistants were able to hold me up,and give me the courage to fully enter the path of moving on. Teri,
“The healing sessions with Heather; I have never experienced anything like this. To have every aspect of my being treated was amazing. (Who does treatments like this any more?) I have come away from the retreat feeling so much lighter, stronger and different in every way. The experimental component – MAGIC happened. Heather’s ability to pull together people from different walks of life , to tune into each individuals way of learning is an art in itself. There is no sitting through a boring lecture here. Oh to have been taught by Heather when I started college. To anyone who like me happened upon Heather Bruce’s “Healing the Wounded Healer” Course, DO IT . YOU ARE MEANT TO. If you haven’t the money – beg or borrow – because you won’t regret it. This experience is worth every cent. If you haven’t the time – make time – you may not get the opportunity again”. Cheryl – acupuncturist, NZ
Taking the time out for reflection is so needed to see how much change can happen; otherwise all growth is lost in the daily busyness. On this course I watched Heather teaching pertinent information in ways that can be missed, will say it in a different context leading to the ” aha ” moments as happens when in a different head – heart space. She can draw out, what is needed from me and as I observed others who feel the call to step up. Being stuck in our own story is so often that missing piece. Having attended several repeat courses, My life has changed for the better incredibly, the last two years.I realised that I’m living life now, instead of the struggle of survival. How incredible is that! Much appreciation to you Heather, for having the belief in me when I had none for myself. Love, Light and blessings, to all sisters on the journey. Teri – acupuncturist, NZ
I wish to thank you for the opportunity to reclaim my body. I came to your retreat knowing I would leave different from how I arrived. My posture is more balanced than it has been in years, and my internal organs have been put back into the right position. Anyone holding a fetus well knows how the body changes. I’ve taken away practical skills to enhance what I already have as a practitioner and healer. I gave myself the time to rest while absorbing information. The group of women shared and held a beautiful supportive space and the isolated area in country New Zealand was beautiful.
I thank the women who prepared our delicious meals to nourish and restore our vehicles; thank you for giving me a break from not only thinking about food, but even the preparation. I would recommend this experience to anyone seeking more knowledge than they think they have, or those who want to retreat from their environment and need time to reflect on where they are in their lives and where they want to be. Heather is a gifted healer/practitioner with an ability to share knowledge and empower all. With a long history of teaching and research, she has the authority to back up this knowledge. She filled in the gaps that I have been seeking. Mychelle – acupuncturist, Victoria
