Testimonials – in person teaching

Welcome

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Heather Bruce has dedicated her entire life to the healing of others and is so due the respect & honour of the wise Crone of the village. She is a Master teacher and multi-modality healer. Our community is truly blessed to have an elder with so much lived experience and embodied wisdom, she knows wombyns ways like no other!! I am so deeply grateful to have spent the last seven years as her student. To have these teachings and a beautiful friendship with a wise elder healing genius, in this day & age, is truly a magnificent blessing!! Sita

I have been working as a practitioner for the past 12 years.  I started my training in Shiatsu and Oriental Medicine and during those years, I completed many other trainings along the way. I met Heather in NZ in 2009 and worked alongside her in her ChCh clinic, she introduced to me to her ‘What Dads Can Do’ and early foundation work then. It wasn’t till 2016 that i have found me been mentored by Heather and attended many trainings with her in Brisbane, NSW and NZ as well as many one-on-one sessions via phone calls.

The Gentling Way process, from my perspective has been a lot more than just learning content and applying it to clinical practice. It has been a process of self-discovery and understanding who I am, where I came from and what path I am walking along. The mentoring involved is invaluable as it holds us accountable for our own self.  Each course I have attended has slightly, sometimes dramatically, changed my path upon returning home.  I am a better practitioner because of the Gentling Way; I have more tools to draw on and a far deeper understanding of how to undo myself to be able to hold space for clients to undo themselves. I still get stuck in my middle circle – this is obvious as my clients at times reflect this. The difference is now I have tools to help myself rise up. The clinical practice is simple, useful and profound in its results only limited by myself and my ego/personality (‘middle circle’).  My life is richer because I have found my purpose and path. “When I witnessed Heather treating a woman’s three-time Caesar scar with cupping the cold out, clearing the lymph blockage, moving Stuck Belly Blood and then acupuncture that softens the scar line, that was not even done along the scar line itself!!… I was truly astounded! Everything she did was done with such clarity and made a huge impact on this woman. This work is life changing. She has remedies and techniques here that alleviate the pain and suffering that so many just endure or cover with pharmaceuticals; this could help so many people!!” The weekend workshop Reconnecting Heart and Wombspace (Bao & Dai Mai) Foundational moves has truly changed my life. It was intensely full of wisdom, so much information and hands on experiential learning, that I am still processing the depths of this fabulous work a week later! This is potent healing work. She gifts us students with so many wonderful techniques that, although quite subtle and simple, have such obvious profound impact. This marvelous work should seriously be undertaken by anyone wishing to truly heal themselves or others! I highly recommend attending these workshops with Heather.”

The Heart/Womb work has shifted me into a higher frequency of healing myself. My own journey of self-care and inner work from practising these techniques has given me clarity for me to walk the talk as a healer. I feel truly blessed to have found Heather and to be learning these wise wombyn ways directly, as the lineage of her teachings is a rare jewel in this modern day of the over-medicalized, patriarchal, consumeristic mess we call medicine.” Sita Tara Kali

I have a client who has had 5 right hip operations (with 3 replacements) starting at 9 yo; he is now 55. His last hip replacement/operation was 3 years ago. For the last 6 years, he has not been able to put his foot down to the floor. I have been working with him for 1 year doing lymphatic release and orthobionomy. His heel was 20 cm from the floor when I first started. The other day we had about 1.5 cm to go for him to be able to put it on the floor.

I decided to do all Heather’s Foundation Moves on him, including release of the sacrum. When I got him up afterward, he felt really looser and taller and put his foot on the floor easily. I thought I would share that. I spared you all the details of treatment like scar release, emotional trauma plus the fear that if he does too well, he will lose his funding package. Thanks Heather. Invaluable….. Nathalie – Lymph and orthobionomy practitioner.

Having done Heather’s Reconnecting Dai Mai workshop, I have applied everything I learnt straight into practice and have really loved the results I am getting. Now I see people through a new lens and love how the new knowledge and techniques is adding such depth to my clinic. As I continue my training in this I can see how what she does makes transformational changes in the bodies and lives of so many of our clients. ????Ester

I attended Heather’s workshop – Reconnecting Bao and Dai Mai – Healing after C-Section – in June 2019. I came away with a host of tools to deepen the work I am currently doing as an acupuncturist. Heather has cherry-picked her healing tools over decades of working. She has honed an approach aimed at getting to the root of the problem. Clearing physical, emotional and spiritual blockages that impede the free flow of Qi. She then aims to set people up for success by empowering them with the knowledge they need to take charge of their own health.

Starting with clearing shock, removing cold and then moving to unlocking physical and emotional trauma, Heather combines an acupuncture approach rooted in the 8 extras with a range of other clinically useful tools she has collected during her years of practice to gently but firmly return the body to balance by restoring flow. Drawing on extensive training in the Maya/Arvigo healing arts, Dr Mercier’s techniques, and a host of other hands-on practices, Heather has taken what works, what makes sense, and created her own very effective, nurturing and holistic approach, which she now calls The Gentling Way.

Heather was so generous in her desire to pass on her knowledge, so that we as practitioners can really help people undo the damage of a lifetime of living. With a strong emphasis on hearing and healing the whole story, rather than just an isolated complaint, Heather’s work is the epitome of holistic.  I have come away from this weekend with so much information, so many resources, and some amazing transformative tools that I can weave into my own practice to start taking things to the next level. – Tanya (acupuncturist)
